Winery Description: Schultz Wines, also known as Schultz Glory Oaks, was founded in 2010 by Greg and Debbie Schultz. The couple relocated to southern Oregon after an extensive search for the ideal location to establish their wine business. They began by sourcing premium grapes from local growers and collaborating with Pallet Wine Company in Medford to produce their initial vintages of Chardonnay and Merlot. Over time, they expanded their portfolio to include eight varietals. In 2014, they developed their own 60-acre estate vineyard in the Applegate Valley AVA, planting varieties such as Tempranillo, Malbec, Viognier, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Committed to sustainable and organic farming practices, they have been farming organically since 2016 and utilize Babydoll sheep for natural mowing and fertilization. Greg's background includes degrees in Chemical Engineering and English, wine appreciation classes at Louisiana State University, and completion of the UC Davis Extension's Winemaking Certificate Program. Debbie is a certified Master Gardener and Land Steward through Oregon State University Extension. Together, they continue to own and operate Schultz Wines, focusing on producing complex and flavorful wines that reflect their dedication to land stewardship and sustainable viticulture.
