Winery Description: Riverain Vineyards is a boutique winery located in Rutherford, Napa Valley, producing small-lot, handcrafted wines that reflect the character of prestigious vineyard sites. The winery's name, "Riverain," is derived from a historical French term meaning "near the river," symbolizing its proximity to the Napa River and the founders' deep connection to the region . Riverain's inaugural vintage in 2011 featured a Cabernet Sauvignon from Tench Vineyard in Oakville and a Syrah from Cardiac Hill Vineyard in Bennett Valley. The winery has since expanded its offerings to include Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, maintaining a limited production of approximately 500 to 600 cases annually . Renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown has crafted Riverain's wines since its inception, bringing his expertise and acclaim to the winery's portfolio. Dean's son, Scott Gray, is also involved in the winery, contributing to its operations and representing the brand in Napa Valley.
