Winery Information
Winery Information for: Priest Ranch
Winery Founded: 1/1/1869
Winery Description: Priest Ranch is a storied Napa Valley property with roots dating back to 1869 when it was established by James Joshua Priest, a determined Gold Rush prospector. Fast forward to 2004, we united the historic Priest Ranch with the adjacent Elder Valley properties, creating the expansive Somerston Estate, now the home of our vineyards and winery. Spanning 1,682 acres, our Estate boasts 224 acres of meticulously cultivated vineyards across 15 distinct areas. Nestled among three ridgelines and two valleys, Priest Ranch leverages its diverse landscape to produce wines of exceptional quality. By blending grapes from multiple blocks, we capture and showcase the unique characteristics of our property in every bottle. Each vineyard block is attentively managed to bring out the best in each grape varietal, ensuring that our multi-block wines embody the highest representation of Priest Ranch’s rich heritage and distinctive terroir.
