Winery Description: Lieu Dit Winery, founded in 2011 by sommelier Eric Railsback and winemaker Justin Willett, is a Santa Barbara County-based winery dedicated to producing Loire Valley-inspired wines from California’s Central Coast. Focusing on varietals like Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne, and Cabernet Franc, Lieu Dit highlights the region’s potential for bright, mineral-driven wines with freshness and finesse. The name “Lieu Dit” refers to small, named vineyard sites in France, reflecting the winery’s commitment to site specificity and varietal character. With minimal intervention in the cellar and thoughtfully sourced fruit, Lieu Dit delivers clean, expressive wines that blend French inspiration with California terroir.
