Winery Description: Fine Disregard Wine Co., established in 2015 by winemaker Mike Schieffer and viticulturist Kara Maraden, is a boutique winery in Napa Valley, California. The name "Fine Disregard" is inspired by a plaque at Rugby School in the UK, commemorating William Webb Ellis, who "with a fine disregard for the rules" invented rugby—a nod to Schieffer's passion for the sport. The winery focuses on producing small-lot wines from lesser-known varietals, sourcing grapes from organically farmed, old-vine vineyards. Their portfolio includes Sémillon, Syrah, and Grenache, crafted with minimal intervention to highlight the unique characteristics of each vineyard. Fine Disregard's commitment to quality and sustainability is evident in their hands-on approach to both viticulture and winemaking.
