This month we had 103 winery updates and 88 wineries releasing wine. Another busy month.
I had some wine friends in town so I took my third trip to Champagne, this time it was an overnight trip.
You can't blame me as the journey is a 40 minute train ride (compared to a 2 hour 22 minute car ride) and there are so many Champagne houses to visit.
We took the 12:23pm train from Gare de l'Est (Paris) and arrived at 1:03pm at the Champagne-Ardenne TGV station. We visited Bollinger at 2pm then headed to the Continental Hotel in Reims.
On Wednesday we started at 9:30am at Champagne Laurent-Perrier then Philipponnat and finished at Pol Roger.
When you are in Epernay, you know you are in Champagne.
Since this was a trade tasting, we were a bit more serious. By the way, I learned the correct way to pronounce Bollinger, it is pronounced bowlawnjay.
