Paso Robles
On my Paso Robles trip in May I recorded a Podcast with Steve Cass of Cass Vineyards and Winery. Hear Steve talk about plans for his new Paso Robles winery. Click here for the 7 meg 28 minute Podcast (you may have to wait a minute or two while it downloads to your computer).

Italy
Back from my two week family trip of Northern Italy. I had a wonderful time visiting Venice, Modena, Lucca, Piedmont (Barolo, Asti, Barbaresco). I tried but failed to get my Mountain Dew drinking brother to appreciate wine, but I haven't given up yet. One of the wine highlights was visiting the Enoteca Vanni wine shop in Lucca which boasts the largest collection of wine in Northern Italy (over 55,000 bottles). Below is a photo of my nieces in their wine shop cellar. You may recognize Brynn (second from the left) from my many trips to Paso as she was a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and our designated driver for many of the wine tasting trips.

For those of you who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Taylor Family Foundation's (www.ttff.org) annual "Day in the Park" food and wine event will take place Sunday, August 27th 2006 (12:00-6:30pm). The event includes a silent and live auction, luncheon, wine tasting and tour of the camp which supports children with life-threatening illnesses and disabilities. I hope you can make it.

And now, on to the show...
