WineRelease.com's October 15, 2002 Monthly Newsletter

Greetings from WineRelease.com, now 739 wineries strong!

Ah, crush is in full swing in Napa Valley. You drive up Silverado Trail or Highway 29 and the smell of fermentation permeates the air. What perfume!

Onto the show....

November 2002 Wine Releases

October's recommended winery mailing lists to join:

Downing Family Vineyards
In 1998 John and Tracy Downing founded Downing Family Vineyards. A small winery producing small case lots of ultra-premium Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. James Laube of Wine Spectator praised their 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon "At this point, with the 1999 vintage hitting the shelves, recommending a 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon from California is risky business. Still, here's one that proves that excellent wines were made in this cool, El Niņo-influenced year." (WineSpectator.com January 18, 2002)

Destino Wines
On February 14, 1997 Chris and Susan Calkins shared an amazing bottle of Le Montrachet on their wedding anniversary and a light went on in Chris' head. That wine inspired them to produce an ultra-premium California Chardonnay. A long time love of Napa Valley Cabernets completed their vision and the concept of Destino Wines began with the 1999 vintage.

October's recommended web site to visit:

Travel Envoy's Wine Guide
After last months recommendation of California Wineries Mall I received numerous requests for other sites I use to gather winery information. Travel Envoy's Wine Guide is another such site.

Til next month!
