WineRelease.com's October 15, 2011 Monthly Newsletter.

Greetings from WineRelease.com, now 1,792 winery listings strong.

In my world, for the first time in years, great food and wine has taken somewhat of a backseat to a few other things - Specifically, my wife and I moved into a new place in the city, in somewhat of a whirlwind as we had a small window of time between when we closed escrow and the pending arrival of our baby girl. That window became even shorter than planned when, on the eve of our 3rd wedding anniversary (on our way to dinner at SPQR, our current favorite San Francisco restaurant), we checked into the hospital to meet our daughter approximately two weeks early.

Mia Jane Elizabeth Monnens was born on October 13, 2011, and stole my heart the minute I met her.

While were still getting into a routine (someone tell our baby that there is such a thing and that it involves sleeping during night hours), Im looking forward to my wife being able to enjoy a number of the wines that have been sent by our sponsors in the past months, as Ive been saving some of my favorites, as we begin to entertain in our new place, and take advantage of the excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. Of course, Im also looking ahead to future years, when Ill be introducing my daughter to great food and wine and helping to develop her palate.

In the meantime, were doing what we can to keep our heads above water, cherishing this time with our baby girl.

And now, onto the wine.
