Greetings. WineRelease.com is now 200 wineries strong!

I moved the mailing list recommendations below the releases.

February 2001

January's recommended mailing lists:

Blankiet Estate
Claude and Katherine Blankiets' 16 acre vineyard, planted mostly with Cabernet with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc, is located in the western hills of Yountville in the Napa Valley. Stephan Tanzer commented "Based on the quality of this site and the track record of the winemaker (Helen Turley), this should rapidly become another California object of desire. (International Wine Cellar May/June 2000). Robert Parker commented "...the barrel sample of Blankiet's 2000 was one of the single greatest young wines I have ever put in my mouth. There will be about 250 cases." (The Wine Advocate 12/23/00)

Clark Claudon Vineyards
Laurie and Tom Clark purchased 117 acres and planted 20 to Cabernet back in 1990. Originally they sold the fruit to various wineries, now they are keeping more and producing their own label. Robert Parker wrote "Full bodied and impressively built, this deep, powerful, concentrated Cabernet begs for cellaring. It is the second impressive effort from this newcomer to the high end Cabernet Sauvignon sweepstakes." (The Wine Advocate 6/26/00)
